Hello Everyone

Long time, no blog post…. I know and I’m sorry to any of the followers who may still be around.

For most people in the world, it’s summertime and like many of my fellow Chicagoans, we are NOT complaining about the heat because of the artic abuse we suffered early this year.

The point of this post is to share my July 2014 to-do list, since we are on the eve July 1st.

JULY 2014

I. Collect seashells
II. Stand at the water’s edge/sit on a towel to gaze out across the water
III. Read “Gift from The Sea” by Anne Morrow Lindbergh
IV. Use fisherman’s netting to decorate a table top with a bottle of sand and seashells
V. Stargaze
VI. Experience the beauty and power of nature during a thunderstorm
VII. Read “Out of The Garden: Women Writers on The Bible” edited by Christina Buchman and Celina Speigel and eat a red apple
VIII. Read “Like Water for Chocolate”, “Reckless Appetite” by Jacqueline Deval, “Catering to Nobody” by Diane Matt Davidson, “Dying for Chocolate” by D.M. Davidson, “Cereal Murders” by D.M. Davidson
IX. Enjoy Mexican enchiladas with chocolate sauce while watching “Like Water for Chocolate”
Chinese takeout for “Eat, Drink, Man, Woman”
French cuisine de femme for “Babette’s Feast’
X. Read “The Cake Bible” by Rose Levy Berenbaum
XI. Bake a cake

I’ll be honest and say I don’t dabble in too much DIY, I have read “Like Water for Chocolate” before and I’ve seen the movie twice, as for the other authors, I’ve never heard of them before, so if you have, I would enjoy any opinions on their work. I love movies and eating and doing them together. And I look forward to baking a cake, for the first time. (Yes, I know,  I’m very slow…😆)

If you take any ideas from this list, feel free and let me know of your experience.
