The Grass is Black/The Air is Pink

feel me/read me/follow me

‘Disillusion’ by Evgeny Abramovich Baratynsky 1800-1844

I pray you,do not idly tempt me,
rekindling passion’s former blaze;
one now disillusioned,empty,
is deaf to wiles of former days.
I have no faith in protestations,
I have no faith in love at all,
no more can I accept her thrall,
her treacherous hallucinations!
Do not provide fresh cause to weep;
of former bliss,I pray,no murmur,
and,friend solicitous,show firmer
purpose in permitting me to sleep!
I drowse,and slumber sweetly takes me;
forget those dreams of yesteryear;
for now great agitation shakes me,
but that,not love,is all you stir.
